The owner of two trendy New York clubs is facing some serious accusations, according to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Civil Supreme Court earlier this week.
The owner of clubs Tenjune and Simyone Lounge, considered sister clubs, has been accused of being a "sexual predator," according to four bartenders who filed the lawsuit. According to sources, the lawsuit claims his actions not only amounted to sexual harassment, but he but begged for sex, exposed himself to employees and even molested them.
The Manhattan clubs are trendy, with reported patrons such as Janet Jackson and Jay-Z. But if the accusations are to be believed, the work environment at the clubs is anything but glamorous.
According to sources, the 33-year-old man's behavior goes back to 2009, with the most recent incident occurring in late April of this year. The plaintiffs' complaint goes on to say he made unwanted sexual advances, touched people inappropriately and exhibited illegal verbal and physical conduct.
He also allegedly invited one employee back to his apartment for an "after-party" - and the woman discovered she was the only guest. The lawsuit says the plaintiffs were emotionally scarred by the man's actions, requiring them to seek psychological treatment. Their attorney told reporters the women continued working at the clubs because they needed the money, but may not do so for much longer.
The bar owner denied the allegations.
The plaintiffs' lawsuit was reportedly filed by the same firm that initiated litigation against the founder of American Apparel recently, although there was apparently no connection between the two lawsuits.
