Harassment in the workplace - sexual or otherwise - should never be tolerated. Many employers institute a "no tolerance" policy, and it's nice to see that some companies actually follow it.

Broadcast television network ABC recently fired a crew member of the remake of the television series "Charlie's Angels." He was accused of sexual harassment of one of the show's stars, Minka Kelly.

According to various reports, a crew member on the Miami set inappropriately touched the star. He apparently slapped her on the behind while holding a $100 bill in his hand.

The incident apparently occurred on Aug. 23. He later tired to apologize and referred to the incident as a "joke" but that did not go over well. Some outlets reported that Kelly slapped him in return, but other reports deny that happened. What's clear is the man was removed from the set and was prevented from returning.

People who witnessed the harassment apparently alerted some higher-ups at ABC. Given the network's no tolerance policy, the crew member was fired. The actress says she had nothing to do with that decision and had been friends with the man before the incident. After it happened, she apparently told him never to disrespect other women like that again.

According to officials at ABC, it was not the first incident of sexual harassment by the crew member, though whether previous incidents occurred at the network was not clear.

"Charlie's Angels" is a glossy reboot of the original series that starred Farrah Fawcett. The new version premieres on ABC this week.
