The TV game show "The Price is Right" has a history of questionable treatment of its models. Some in the past have filed lawsuits, and apparently that pattern is continuing. A model who is no longer on the show has sued two producers of the show, as well as their production company, for sexual harassment and wrongful termination.
In the woman's lawsuit, which was filed in a Los Angeles County court, she says the producers continually harassed, humiliated and berated her. She says she did nothing to provoke them, but that as senior level men, they enjoyed bullying and harassing female talent, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The model started on the show in 2003. The lawsuit indicates she enjoyed her work until late in 2009, when one of the producers abruptly stopped speaking to her and favored another model with whom he was having a relationship. She says policies were adopted to limit her screen time and became downright abusive.
In one incident, one of the producers apparently entered the models' dressing room without knocking. The model was naked from the waist up. She says the producer proceeded to scold her for failing to wear a microphone. She claims he humiliated her in front of the other models, all of whom were shocked at the man's tirade. The incident was not reported, even though a stage manager apologized to her, she says.
She also says she complained about how she was treated at a meeting about another model's accusations of sexual harassment. After she complained, she says the producers apparently told her she was "holding the show hostage," according to The Times.
It was not reported how much the woman was seeking in damages in her lawsuit.
